About Us

History

The Department of Anaesthesia is a Department in the Faculty of Clinical Sciences College of Health Sciences. The Department consist of members with expertise in the field of anaesthesia and its subspecialties, intensive care medicine, resuscitation, pain management and palliative medicine. The lecturers teach anaesthesia to undergraduate medical students within the MBBS program.

The department is committed to the University’s mission of teaching, learning, research and community development services in the field of Anaesthesia. It is aimed at producing men and women who are well-trained in all facets of Anaesthesia with the main purpose of meeting national and international needs in the area of safe delivery of anaesthesia services. Train students to be self-reliant in the field of basic anaesthesia and perioperative care.
